Chippewa Valley IT Professionals is an independent group of Information Technology professionals in the Chippewa Valley (Eau Claire / Chippewa Falls, WI area) attempting to further their IT skills through peer networks and guest speakers.
Meetings
Our meetings are typically on the 3rd Wednesday of every other month at a TBD local bar/restaurant starting at 5:30pm for 30 min of arrivals/gathering and ordering food/drinks with conversation, followed by about an hour for a speaker presentation or round table at 6pm, ending with free form conversation and social time. Recently we have focused on round table discussions to bring together individuals that have an interest in specific topics so these topics can be discussed in detail. We will not have speakers at these meetings but we will recruit individuals with sufficient experience in the topic area to lead the discussion.
5:30 - 6:00 gather and place dinner orders (on your own)
6:00 - 6:15 CVITP organization business
6:15 - 7:00 speaker presentation, Q&A
7:00 - ?? dinner, discussion, social hour
Current and past/future locations include: Deb’s Café (formerly Camille’s Café), Chippewa Valley Airport, Dooley's Pub, etc.
Special Events: Technology Summits (Conference), Picnics, Volunteerism
CVITP is just starting to plan and host mini conferences for IT professionals in the area, with the first being held on Oct 29, 2013 and more planned for the future. The day of the week, duration and location will vary as a result. On occasion the group may also have a meeting in the form of a picnic in the summer and has been active in various volunteer efforts as well.
Membership
Membership fees are $30 per year.
First time membership includes free t-shirt with CVITP logo.
